Japan-based cold forging manufacturer Minamida breaks ground in Guanajuato

Japan-based cold forging manufacturer Minamida broke ground in recent days at the Leon-Bajio Industrial Park (PILBA) in Leon, Guanajuato to build a production site.

The company plans to invest US$ 1.5 million and hire 30 workers in order to start operations in April 2018, then eventually it will add a US$ 4.5 million investment to become fully operational with a total 180-strong workforce.

Minamida is the fourth company to break ground at PILBA, which is the industrial park where global tiremaker Michelin builds a US$ 510 million plant.

At the ceremony site, the word was that Minamida will supply bolts, nuts, screws and other cold forging supplies to the Mazda assembly plant located in Salamanca, Guanajuato, less than 100 kilometers away.
