Baja California could build its own aircraft

Mexico has more than 300 companies in the aerospace manufacturing industry, but very few of these are Mexican companies. All kinds of airframe parts and plane and helicopters parts are being manufactured by large aviation companies but domestic production is practically non-existent. Tomas Sibaja, CEO of the Baja California Aerospace Cluster, said that Mexico and Baja California must support the development of capabilities to manufacture domestic aircraft. Baja California’s aerospace industry would likely be able to put together an aircraft if all parts were designed for the same project, so the group is looking to consolidate its position and attract new supplies.
