Mr. Othero graduated as Industrial Engineer from the Industrial Engineering School and also has a post-graduate degree in Administration from Mackenzie University, both of them in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was appointed General Director for General Motors San Luis Potosi in July 2006. His responsibilities include, among others, coordinating and administrating activities to set in operation this new manufacturing complex in Mexico. A Brazilian citizen, Walter started his career in General Motors as Manufacturing Engineer for GM do Brasil in 1971, where he quickly climbed to several management positions in production, logistics and manufacturing areas. In 1996 he was appointed Manager for General Motors’ project of a new plant in Rosario Argentina; he was later appointed Manufacturing Director for General Motors operations in Argentina. In 2001 he returned to Brazil as Manufacturing Operations Director for the largest automotive complex General Motors has there, Sao Caetano Do Sul in Sao Paulo. In 2005 he was appointed Director of Power Train Manufacturing Operations for Latin America.
