The first stage of the Specialized Automotive Terminal (TEA) in the Lazaro Cardenas Port, in Michoacan, is going to be ready soon, which will enable the reception of the first automotive cargo ferry during the month of March. This infrastructure work, which was especially planned to expedite the logistic services of automotive companies installed in Mexico, has capacity to receive over 350 ferries per year and to move up to 700,000 vehicles. Likewise, the Terminal is going to render in-port handling services, including car and vehicle transfer and handling. SSA Mexico, a Company specialized on port terminals, invested US$50 million to develop this complex, and by the end of this month, the second stage shall be completed, to match the expansion the national automotive industry is undergoing.
