Next Energy Mexico, a Company based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, is going to invest roughly US$50 million to build a solar farm in Bacalar, Quintana Roo, with a 50 megawatts capacity. A spokesperson explained that this plant is going to supply energy to five hotel chains and shall begin operations by mid-2019. This is one of the most important projects the Company is developing this year. Moreover, there are other plans in the Firms' portfolio, both for wind energy and solar energy projects, with an approximate value of 1,000 megawatts, to be developed in different States of Mexico, with details still undisclosed, as these plans are in an early assessment stage.
