After four months in a row of decreases, sales of electrified vehicles in Mexico grew 34.6% during last October to 985 hybrid and electric cars, according to the latest figures from the Mexican Automotive Industry Association. Such sales comprised 967 hybrid units and 18 full electric cars.

From January through October, Mexican auto dealers sold 8,268 electrified cars, representing a 32.8% hike compared to the same ten-month period of 2016.

Nearly half of October sales in Mexico, a 44.6%, took place in the country’s capital due to environmental regulations that grant benefits for those who owned this type of drivetrain.

Second place on sales volume is the neighboring State of Mexico with a 13.3%. Residents in the State of Mexico are subject to same regulations when entering the Mexico City jurisdiction.
