Nestlé to increase production capacity by 30% at cereal plant in Jalisco

Swiss, the world's largest food and beverage company, plans to expand the production capacity of its cereal plant in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, during the second half of 2018, company officials revealed to Forbes Mexico.

The complex, which supplies the national market, to Central America and the Caribbean, could increase its production capacity by 30%, by approximately 50,000 tons of cereal. The increase will be used for both export and local supplies, said Felipe Santana, vice president of Cereales Nestlé Mexico, in an interview with Forbes Mexico.

In September 2017, Nestlé set itself the goal of consuming 100% local corn and wheat by 2022, which will benefit producers in Guanajuato and also reduce the impact of the exchange rate.
