Zoppas Industries, an Italy-based manufacturer of heating components and systems, opened its second production facility in San Luis Potosi, where the company invested US$ 6 million to set up this operation.

Located in the municipality of Rioverde, the new facility produces heating components and thermal controls for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the appliances sector. For that end, the company recruited 700 workers.

Once the plant becomes fully operational, the company expects to reach a capacity of 44,000 pieces a day among tubular heaters, cartridges and band heaters.

The company first started operations at the state capital in 2000. That facility currently employs a staff of 1,400. Some of Zoppas Industries main customers are Mabe, General Electric, Electrolux, Whirlpol, Samsung and Unomatic.
