Germany-based chemical products manufacturer Henkel received the proper permits from Mexican environmental authorities to conduct expansions in order to add a new production line at its facility in Salamanca, Guanajuato, El Economista reported.

Due to increasing demand in the auto industry, the company is investing US$ 8 million to produce an automotive sealer which it currently imports from the United States.

The Salamanca plant of Henkel currently produces paints, adhesives, liquids, ferric, powders, emulsified, reduced, oxidizers and other types of sealants for a diverse range of applications.

Along with offices and two distribution centers, the company operates six plants, four of them located in the state of Mexico, one in Nuevo Leon and the Guanajuato site. Those facilities employ altogether 1,500 workers.
