Metco’s own merits to grow

Jose Manuel Hernandez, Manufacturing Director of Metco, expressed that the engineering team of this Mexican company, has been developing its own machines for the last six years, including mixers, fillers and sealers, among others. The team developed its own equipment in just one third of the time that it took its foreign providers —as there is no inventory and they assemble the products on demand—. Today, 75% of the machines operated by the Company, are proprietary. Metco's case —with the production of Svetia, in addition to other low-calorie sweeteners, such as AzucarBC, Mascabado genuino and DB Sugar, among others— is not common in the Mexican manufacturing industry, which has a record of being more of a buyer of machines and tools, rather than a producer.
