Mizayaki Seiko opens US$ 11 million plant in Jalisco

Mizayaki Seiko, a specialty steel bars and wire manufacturer, this week officially opened its first manufacturing plant in Mexico located at the Colinas de Lagos industrial park in the municipality of Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco.

The Japan-based company invested US$ 11 million and recruited 50 workers to manufacture cold drawn bars for automotive applications.

The company will provide such products to auto suppliers that build components for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) such as Toyota, Honda and Mazda.

This the second Japanese manufacturer opening operations at Colinas de Lagos in the last two months.

In early September, Yasunaga started operations at a US$ 10 million facility to manufacture connecting rods, recruiting 31 workers for that end.
