India-based UNO Minda Group builds US$ 15 million plant in Mexico

The UNO Minda Group, an India-based Tier 1 global automotive supplier, announced it is expanding its manufacturing capacity with a new US$ 15 million facility in Mexico for horns.

The plant is under construction in Queretaro, where the company already owns a small operation in through Clarton Horns, a Spain-based manufacturer acquired in 2013, which supplies horns for the Volkswagen Atlas.

The facility will be developed in two stages. During its first phase the plant will supply horns for Volkswagen, specifically for the Tiguan, Polo and New Jetta, while in its second phase it will meet the needs of Ford and General Motors in Mexico and the US. 

The plant is expected to be operational by April 2018.
