The plant which BMW is currently building in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, will be a crucial addition to the production network of the German brand, regardless of the threats the US government might make, said Oliver Zipse, member of BMW production counsel. There are several reasons why the plant is still viable, starting with the Company's capacity of adaptation to make business, and continuing with the advantages Mexico offers assemblers. When a company has large global capacity, which is BMW's case, there is a broad margin for handling possible situations.
