Japan-based auto harnesses supplier builds in Guanajuato its sixth Mexican plant

Officials from Sistemas de Arneses K&S Mexicana, a subsidiary of Japan-based Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, broke ground earlier this week at the municipality of San Felipe, Guanajuato, to build the company’s sixth plant in Mexico.

The US$ 4.7 million facility will be located at the San Felipe Torres Mochas industrial park and is expected to create at least 900 jobs.

It is worth noticing the company already started operations at a provisional plant in San Felipe, with plans to move to its own facility by April 2018.

Sistemas de Arneses K&S Mexicana is a subsidiary created in 1996, which employs around 4,000 workers in five Mexican plants. Two of those are located in Aguascalientes, two in San Luis Potosi and one more in Zacatecas.

One of its main costumers in the North America region is Nissan, as it manufactures wiring harnesses for March, Versa, Sentra and Altima models.
