Because of the unusual interest for the nearly ten-year old SUV, Volkswagen will continue selling its previous generation Tiguan in the U.S. under the Tiguan Limited name alongside the all-new version of the model for two more years.

In order to spark more interest, the German automaker has revealed the unit will go on sale with only one trim level starting at US$ 21,995, which includes halogen headlights, 16-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, the Composition Color infotainment system (with Bluetooth), plus a rearview camera.

The Tiguan Limited will be equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque.

Optionally available will be а 4Motion all-wheel drive system (US$ 1,975) which also includes a larger, 6.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a Wheel Package (US$ 495) that adds 17-inch aluminum-alloys. The Tiguan Limited is manufactured in Puebla, Mexico.
