A Spain-based company from the automotive sector will set up operations in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. The amount of investment in this venture was not revealed, but it is expected to create more than 800 jobs in its first stage, said the city’s Secretary of Economic Development and Employment, Arturo Gomez Ibarra.

Gomez Ibarra said that the company, owned in part by Chinese capital, manufactures lock systems for cars and light trucks.

He explained that the supplier is already projecting a plus 100,000 square-feet facility, which will be located in the west side of the city. The official underscored that the building could be done in the fourth quarter of 2017, while the operation will start until next year.
