Mini introduces its first hybrid model into the Mexican market

BMW has become the last automaker to introduce a low emissions model into the Mexican market. Its subsidiary Mini announced last week the arrival of the hybrid Cooper SE Countryman All4.
The unit has an all-wheel drive that combines a 3-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 136 horsepower, with an electric motor of 88 horses.
On hybrid mode, the Cooper SE reaches 47.6 kilometers per litter, equivalent to 111.5 miles per gallon, and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
At a price of 709,900 Mexican pesos, some US$ 37,363 at current exchange rate, Mini plans to sell 150 units for the rest of 2017.
During the first four months of 2017 a total 3,404 low-or-zero emission units were delivered by Mexican auto dealers, a skyrocketing 157.3% hike against the same period of 2016. Just 106 units were full-electric while the rest 3,298 vehicles were hybrid models.
