German auto supplier Waldaschaff Automotive, which specializes in metal components and systems announced it will invest US$ 20 million to establish operations in Leon, Guanajuato, creating 250 direct jobs in a seven-year period.

It will be the first facility to start production at the Vynmsa industrial park and the first BMW supplier to install operations in Guanajuato, since most providers are setting up operations in San Luis Potosi state, where the assembly plant is under construction.

The 64,500 square-feet facility is also first in Guanajuato to supply aluminum profiles using laser cutting technology, followed by processes of bending, milling, drilling, welding and riveting, said government officials at a press conference.
