Back in the year 2000, the firm Compañia Operadora de Estacionamientos Mexicanos (Copemsa) devised a plan to develop electric vehicles. Nonetheless, 17 years went by before this company realized its project through the brand Zacua. This is the first Mexican firm to venture in the production of electric cars. This two-seater will cost US$26,000 and it will have 160 kilometers of autonomy for each battery charge. Other Mexican companies that have also tried their luck in the automotive sector are Mastretta, VUHL, Air Design and Giant Motors, with different results each of them.
