The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) approved US$ 3.5 million in incentives for Metalsa Structural Products Inc., if the Mexico-based company spends US$ 36.5 million to expand its facility in Owensboro, Kentucky and creates 113 new jobs.

The jobs would pay an average of US$ 18 an hour, including benefits, KEDFA documents show.

The current 212,423-square-foot industrial plant was built by Dana Corp. and opened in 1998. In late 2009, Dana sold its global Structural Products business to Metalsa, the largest vehicle frame and structures supplier in Mexico, for up to US$ 150 million.
