During an interview with El Financiero, Mathias Kolm, Purchasing Manager at Daimler Passenger Cars, said the company has secured at least 70% of NAFTA content for the units Mercedes-Benz plans to build at its Aguascalientes facility starting in 2018.

Kolm said Daimler is pleased to add a great number of providers already established in Mexico to its supply chain, even though he offered no figures. “Most of them will have to expand their Mexican operations to meet our demands,” he added.

The official confirmed the plant jointly built between Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz will have a capacity for 300,000 units a year, half of those made by each company.
