In 2016, the electric and electronic equipment manufacturing sector recorded FDI worth US$75.5 million in Queretaro. The development of electronic components for the automotive sector has become a potential niche for the industry in Queretaro, with growth rates higher than 200% in the last year, according to the Ministry of Economy (SE). The SE stated that the FDI inflow put towards the manufacture of electric and electronic equipment for the automotive industry in the State represents 25% of the total investment for auto part manufacture during 2016. FDI for this sector has an accumulated add-up of US$172.9 million from 1999 to 2016.
