Steel producers in Canada, U.S. and Mexico ask to reinforce NAFTA rules to increase consumption

Steel producers from Canada, U.S., and Mexico, have asked their governments to make sure the NAFTA negotiations include the key principles to increase both consumption and commercial exchange in the region. Six associations from these three countries declared that they recommend to reinforce the original rules and increase the value of the regional content; encourage cooperation and coordination of actions toward the control of unfair trade, as well as establishing strict monetary discipline and market discipline for State-based companies.
