MFI International, an El Paso-based contract manufacturer of premium bedding and home furnishing products, announced that its new facility located in the municipality of Jimenez, Chihuahua is now fully operational.

This new 90,000 square foot manufacturing facility was purchased in October 2016 and began operations in November.

The production site currently employs 70 individuals and will increase to 150 employees by the end of the year. The company declined to comment on the amount of investment this operation required.

“MFI expects its growth to continue at a fast pace in the next few years,” said Daniel Desperak, Director of Manufacturing, Mexico, in a press release.

“This additional manufacturing footprint enables our company to maintain a more stable, and better-balanced workforce at all of our facilities in both Mexico and the United States. With this added capacity, we will also be able to offer new programs and services for customers at our other manufacturing facilities,” Desperak added.

This expansion is part of the company’s plan to accelerate growth at MFI’s Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas facilities.
