The volume of passengers transported between Mexico and the U.S. had a 7.2% growth in 2016. Southwest Arlines started operations to Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun; American Airlines, inaugurated the Los Angeles to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta routes. Delta Airlines started operations between New York and Kansas City to Cancun; and Los Angeles- Los Cabos. Aeromexico launched the Mexico City (CDMX)-Austin and Monterrey – Denver. Interjet: from Los Angeles and Chicago to CDMX; from CDMX, Guadalajara and Monterrey to Las Vegas; and between New York and Los Angeles bound to Cancun. Volaris: Monterrey-Chicago and Dallas-Monterrey routes; and Durango-Los Angeles flights and departures from Guadalajara to Seattle, San Francisco and Austin.
