Mexico could be the "unexpected star" of global economy, considers Walter Molano, emerging markets assessor of BCP Securities. "The unexpected star this 2017 could be Mexico, despite the rhetoric from the White House, the Mexican economy will benefit from the economic reactivation of the U.S.", considers Mr. Molano. This is explained with the correlation of the GDP growth rates among both countries since 2007, which has been around 80%, thanks to the NAFTA. In 1991, before the NAFTA was signed, the correlation was 18%. “…the expansion of economic activity in the U.S. will most likely be felt south of the border", said Molano.
