Queretaro´s Technical University (UTEQ), with support from the Mexico-U.S. Fund for the Advance of Science (FUMEC), recently opened its 4.0 Creativity and Innovation Center, which will be specialized in research about communication between machines, intelligent manufacture and Internet of things (IoT), focusing on the automotive and aerospace industries. This Center had public and private funding totaling US$1 million. This Innovation Center will set a space for the development of smart manufacture to be able to offer digital manufacture training for instructors. Guillermo Fernandez de la Garza, FUMEC Executive Director, underscored that this initiative is looking to integrate six basic courses on design and digital manufacture, developed by the Digital Manufacture Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) in the U.S.
