Earlier this month the vehicle number 500,000 rolled out of Mazda Motor's Mexican facility. The milestone, a machine gray metallic Mazda 3, was achieved in less than three years after production began at the plant located in Salamanca, Guanajuato.

Mazda's production site began operations in February 2014 after a US$ 770 million investment. The plant currently employs more than 5,200 workers to build the Mazda 2 and Mazda 3 models, as well as Skyactiv engines.

Company's officials pointed out this is Mazda's first facility to reach the 500,000 milestone in less than 36 months.
