Honeywell inaugurated in Mexico City its Center for Research and Development, to serve this U.S. based firm oriented towards product development and search of technological solutions in Mexico. The company invested US$ 5 million at the facility and expects to hire 200 engineers and researchers, according to a press release.

Craig Breese, President of Honeywell Mexico, Central America and the Andean Region, said the Honeywell Center offers high-quality jobs for Mexican engineers, whose ideas and creations will materialize in real technology and solutions for Latin American markets.

"As well as the Internet revolution of things continues to provoke an increase in the demand for increasing sophistication in switching from digital to physical interfaces," said Krishna Mikkilineni, Vice President of Engineering, Operations and IT at Honeywell, Honeywell is in a great position to meet it. "

Honeywell has been present in Mexico since 1936 and operates approximately 18,500 employees in 15 manufacturing sites, 5 engineering centers and 4 corporate offices.

IldefonsoĀ Guajardo, Mexican Ministry of Economy, mentioned at the ceremony that the main preoccupation should be how to develop talents and capacities of the new generations to become adapted to a changing world that needs different responses.

Ā In regards to the new relation with North America, Guajardo saidĀ that three elements will have to be considered: re-designing the new alliance model in North America, recognizing benefits for all three countries; being aware that the agreement must be evolved into the XXI century; and that every agreement must bring about benefits to their respective countries. ā€œThere is no successful negotiation if there is no profit for its participantsā€, he remarked.
