Veracruz is looking to develop its industry of local suppliers for international oil firms which are expected to arrive into the State during 2017, with the opening of the contests for public tendering to extract hydrocarbons off the Gulf of Mexico coastline, informed Alejandro Zairick Morante, Ministry of Economic and Port Development.

The first Veracruz forum of investment for the energy sector is being planned, together with the private sector, as an opportunity to present a catalog of local firms ready to serve oil corporations that are installing offices in the State.

According Zairick Morante, over 40 different national and international companies related to the energy sector have been invited, such as British Petroleum and Exxon. On the other hand, Jose Manuel Urreta Ortega, President of the Entrepreneurial Coordinating Council (CCE) in Veracruz, said that there are companies in Veracruz which could offer different services, besides providing food, transport and gas, as well as safety and fire protection equipment, among others.
