Mexican auto exports rose 4% in October; domestic sales increased 14.6%

Mexican auto industry produced 328,490 units and exported 255,115 light vehicles in October. That's a 0.5% increase for the first figure and 4% for the second compared to the same month a year earlier, the country's automotive association AMIA said on a brief.

From January through October 2016 auto production totaled 2.9 million vehicles, a 0.9% increase compared to same period from 2015. Over the same period exports totaled 2.3 million, 22,155 units less than last year.

Mexican auto dealers sold 137,383 units (14.6% increase) during October, adding up a total of 1.2 million cars (18% increase) from January through October.
